This year's event did not disappoint! Ben, Jason, and company continue to host top notch events ran so smooth they make it look so easy. A big thank you for all the hard and thankless work it takes to have a world class event in our own backyard.
The Team Nebraska Women had a great day placing first in the Women's division and 10th overall! It was a true team effort and all of them represented the team very well. The women were able to successfully compete and win with a 7 person team. The team members were Jen Freeman, Liz Woodruff, Cassie Hoa Mitchell, Taylor Johnson, Katherine Sheridan, Erin Artz, and Kenzie Wallace. Congrats again ladies!!!
Justin Mollak and Tim McGargill represented the team by running with the Ortho Nebraska sponsored team. Their team placed 2nd in the mixed division and 5th overall. Justin and Tim are very grateful for their involvement on the race's sponsor team. We will be following Justin as he approaches the Nebraska Marathon in 2 weeks!
We must also mention LRC's dominating performance with 3 teams in the top 5. Congrats to all of their athletes who represented their team so well. We are very lucky to have the competition within our community. We will be looking to give them a challenge next year!
Cory continues to impress at all distances. Not only did he successfully defend his title at the Wabash, he ALSO won the Lean Horse 100 Mile race is his 100 Mile debut. Congrats to Cory for demonstrating his dominance in all ranges of racing. Other notable performances came from Jen Freeman also coming off her 50 Mile debut and win! Kelly Crawford also punched his ticket to Boston.

Our team had a great performance at this year's Cornfield2Cornfield. This is the premier 10k for the summer that is hosted by the experts at Pink Gorilla Events. This year Luka and Colin took first and second for the men. Liz Woodruff continued her amazing season by winning the race and 11th O/A!!! Congrats Liz! Jen Freeman also took 3rd! Congrats to all who raced!

Team Nebraska is fortunate to have an amazing sponsor in the Lincoln Marathon. In 2017 we had 8 Team Nebraska members volunteer and over 40 athletes compete. We had top ten finishes in the men’s half and full marathon and also strive to improve this next year! Peter Falcon had a notable performance in the half as well as Cory Logdson and Tim Langdon in the full.
Collin Morrisey won the Havelock 10k and Peter Falcon won the 3k and beat the team course record by 10 seconds with an 8:48
More Notable Performances
Jen Freeman ran the Storm Lake half marathon, won the female division and beat the course record with a 1:30.04
Liz Woodruff beat the track 10k team record by 15 seconds with a 38:51 back in April. She was 3rd female in the Havelock 10k with a 39:20.
Tim and Emily Langdon also represented the Trail Nebraska team at the North Fork 50k
Cory also won the Kettle Moraine 100k representing the Trail team
We are very proud of our teams who competed in Chicago this weekend. Team Nebraska sent 2 Men's and Women's teams to race. Every one did an outstanding job! The Men's A team jumped 5 spots to finish 10 seconds behind a fast LRC Racing team. If you are wondering, if Team Nebraska and LRC combined, they would have finished 8th overall.
Kira Belzer ran a great race improving her time by almost 3 minutes from last year. Shannon Suing led the Women's A team with an outstanding sub-30 result. The Men were led by Colin Morrissey with Peter Falcon and Cory Logsdon close behind. Jeff Yao was also able to run a PR. Team results are posted below. Congrats again!!!
Cory, Jeff, and Colin both had great tune up races in their respective distances. Miguel Odorica and Tim McGargill also had good races. Shannon also had a great run finishing 2nd female!
NE Trail Race
Congrats to LRC's Brian Wandzilak for taking home the win in the 12K. This year's edition featured a half marathon where Tim McGargill finished 3rd overall. Miguel was close behind finishing 5th Overall and first in the Master's division. A big thank you goes to Gary Dougherty and Kaci Lickteig for the photos.
We are just over a month away from the Lincoln Marathon. Everyone has been training hard, and we will be excited to see the results!
Once again the Spring season starts off with the Pink Gorilla classic, The Leprechaun Chase 10K. The team had a dominating performance, and we are beyond proud of our athletes. Kira Belzer ran an amazing 39:50 on a warm and windy day to take the win on the women's side. Breelan Kear was not far behind taking second overall!! Wat ot go ladies!!!
The men followed in similar fashion! Peter Falcon took the overall win while granting every man there a free beer on the house. Colin Morrissey was right behind him placing 2nd overall! Congrats and well done fellas! This will be a great tune up for all four heading into Shamrock Shuffle!
Fall racing is wrapping up and our team is making a statement with amazing performances. As racing winds down over the next month, the team will focus on winter training to carry this success into next year. We are proud of our athlete's performances and sportsmanship!
Good Life Halfsy
The 3rd installment of this amazingly organized race took place this past Sunday. 6,000 runners packed with a competitive field took to the streets of Lincoln. Nebraska is lucky to have such well planned and executed race directed by Pink Gorilla Events. Luka Thor continued to impress placing 2nd overall in a deep field. Luka was 3 seconds off from the top. Peter Falcon ran a PR, 1:11:10! Cory and Colin rounded out the scoring for the Men's Division taking home first place! Josiah Belzer, Blake Kanger, and Pierce Tallichet also had solid performances. The Team Nebraska women ran well to take third place in the Women's division with Kira Belzer, Jenn Freeman, Megan Nissen, and Taylor Johnson scoring.
G.O.A.T.z Trail Runs
The Trail Nebraska contingent continues to impress. In the 50K, Cory and Tim Langdon repeated in the top 3 both running strong. This year they were joined by honorary Trail Nebraska member, Kaci Lickteig in second overall, first female. Miguel Odorica had a great top ten finish placing 7th overall. Emily Langdon had a big PR placing in the women's top ten.
In the 21 Mile, Tim McGargill ran well enough to take the win.
On a foggy humid day, Luka was able to put the conditions aside and place 2nd overall in the half. We are proud of his efforts and look forward to an exciting 2017!
The Nebraska Marathon
While everyone was at Des Moines, Tim McGargill was able to win the inaugural marathon at this event.
Shannon has been training well for a fast marathon in November. So well in fact she has won 2 local marathons, The Omaha Marathon and Heartland Marathon, as part of her training cycle. We look forward to her race!
Luka has been doing quite well as he heads into the Des Moines Half. He won the Harvest Moon Hustle in September. He also ran very well at the Race for the Cure, even with timing confusion, he ran a 15:25 5K, We are excited for his Fall season and 2017!
Team Nebraska had great representation with Colin Morrissey and Tim Langdon finishing in the top 5.
Luka continued to show his strength winning overall in 26:04. Colin Morrissey, Pierce Tallichet, and Matt Seiler all cracked the top ten. Well done gentlemen!
Market 2 Market
Team Nebraska had both a Men's and Women's team in the annual relay event. There were also several Team Nebraska members on other teams representing the club with their sportsmanship and talents. 3 of the top 6 teams had Team Nebraska representation.
The Bear 100
Justin Mollak completed his first 100 race under rough conditions near Logan, UT. Teammate, Tim McGargill, along with Lindsey Meyer helped pace him through this journey.

As the summer culminates, we look towards the Fall racing. The exciting time when the Summer's training in the heat and humidity bear the fruits of racing and personal records. The summer has ended well for Team Nebraska. Here are a few highlights:
Jenn Freeman won the 30K for the women while Cory Logsdon won in the 50 Mile race overall. Congrats to them for their accomplishment and representing the club in South Dakota.
Nebraska State Fair Marathon
Megan Niessen placed 6th for the women in the full marathon. Megan ran a 3:28:51, congrats Megan! Miguel Odorica ran a PR in the half earning him a big check and 3rd overall. Miguel ran a 1:22:22 on a humid morning. Miguel will have a packed and exciting Fall season with racing and pacing.
The Bear 100
Justin Mollak will tackle The Bear for his 100 mile debut. Tim McGargill will be pacing and crewing Justin and is honored to help. Miguel Odorica will be pacing Kaci Lickteig.
