Team Nebraska had another woman win a road race over the weekend with Theresa Gosnell wining the 5K at the NEBRASKAland Days in North Platte, NE, on June 21st. Theresa had a time of 19:18, which bested the next woman by nearly 4 minutes.
Shawna Young competed in the Dizzy Goat on June 21st, where she won the 6-hour division, finishing 10 laps (approximately 32.5 miles) in the allotted time.
Several Team Nebraska athletes competed in the Blair Track Club Open Meet on June 22nd, in Blair, NE. York Thomas edged out Cory Logsdon for the win in the 3,000 meter run. Both men crossed the line in 9:03. Peter Falcon finished in 9:26 while Josiah Belzer ran 9:37. Cory and Josiah turned around to run the 800 meter run shortly thereafter, where Cory won in 2:05 and Josiah finished in 2:14. Aubrey Baxter competed in multiple throwing events, hitting USATF National Club Track and Field qualifying marks in two events. Aubrey’s marks were 46’2” in the shot put, 135’ in the disc, and 112’ in the javelin.
Cornfield Cornfield was held at Werner Park in Papillion, NE, on June 28th. Peter Falcon took home the win in the 10K in 34:58. Shannon Suing finished as the first female and third overall in the 10K with a time of 39:51.
