At Hospital Hill, the top three women’s teams were swept by Nebraska clubs. Team Nebraska women finished 2nd
behind LRC Racing, while NDORFNZ came in 3rd. On the men’s side, Team Nebraska came in third behind LRC Racing and KC Smoke.
Megan Zavorka finished 3rd overall on the challenging course with in 1:23:58. Haleigh Riggle had a huge PR of 1:29:57. Jen Freeman had a strong finish, coming in right behind Riggle in 1:30:07. Suzanne Higgins finished in 1:36:01, while Christina King finished in 1:42:27. Awesome job, ladies!
Kyle Smith led the men, finishing 9th overall in 1:14:43. Cory Logsdon was next for Team Nebraska, crossing the finish line in 1:16:32. Cheto Cerda was not far behind, finishing in 1:16:41. York Thomas was next in 1:17:00. Nate Stack finished in 1:19:01. Great run on a tough course, men!
Peter Falcon won the 10K in 34:29, which makes the second year in a row that Team Nebraska has won a race at Hospital Hill; last year, York Thomas won the 5K. Nice run, Peter!
At Havelock, Team Nebraska A finished 2nd overall in the 10K. David Bohlken led the way in 34:41 to finish 7th. Justin Mollak rounded out a top-10 finish in 35:03. Jimmy Doherty finished in 36:14, while Lee Anderson crossed the line in 37:30. Also competing in the Havelock 10K was Colin Morrissey (new member), Kyle Johnson (new member), and Brandon Wissing. Morrissey finished 3rd overall in 33:44. Johnson wasn’t far behind, finishing
4th in 34:08. Wissing finished 8th in 34:48. Great showing at Havelock, men!
Barbra Wehde won the Omaha Women’s Triathlon Sunday morning. She had to swim 750 meters, bike 20K, and run 5K, finishing in 1:15:07. Shawna Young also competed in the Women’s Tri, finishing 15th overall in 1:28:44. What a strong start to your 2013 triathlon season, ladies!
