In the marathon, Nate Stack finished 8th place with a time of 2:40:22. Ivan Marsh was next for Team Nebraska, finishing as the 29th male and first in his age group in 2:56:00. Todd Nott finished in 3:03:07 as the 55th male and first in his age division. Geoff Groskopf covered the 26.2 miles in 3:11:37, while Jimmie Doherty was not far behind in 3:12:21. Shannon Suing finished as the 3rd female in a new PR of 2:55:29, just a few short weeks after she ran the Eisenhower Marathon in Kansas. Natalie Jetensky finished in 3:18:50, placing second in her age division. Ashley Schurman ran well to finish in 3:27:42.
Three Team Nebraska men finished in the top ten in the half marathon. Eric Rasmussen led the way, finishing in 6th place in 1:12:04, while York Thomas was close on his heels with a PR of 1:12:13. Peter Falcon ran his debut half marathon and finished 9th overall in 1:12:58. Also running his debut half marathon, Pierce Tallichet finished in 12th place in 1:14:56. Team Nebraska had four men round out the top 20 places. Matt Heesch (1:16:02), Casey Kear (1:16:40), Brett Rosauer (1:17:09), and David Bohlken (1:17:58) finished in the 17th through 20th spots, respectively. Matt Seiler finished in 22nd place in 1:18:39. Kelly Crawford finished as the first masters in the half marathon as well as made the top-25 for men, running a new PR of 1:19:17. Bob Miyake ran 1:22:19 to finish as the 34th male. Paul Petera (1:25:46) and Steve Cross (1:25:54) ran well to finish 4th and 5th, respectively, in their age division. Ryan Larson ran a big PR, finishing in 1:30:15. Lee Anderson and Cheto Cerda finished in 1:34:48. Ryan Dibben ran a 10-minute PR of 1:37:31, while Brand Rife also ran a PR.
Team Nebraska claimed five spots in the top 10 for the women’s half. Bridget Easley won in 1:19:16, while Ashley Miller was close behind in 1:19:25. Both ladies ran huge PRs. Megan Thomas finished in 3rd place, with a time of 1:23:38. Theresa Gosnell finished in 8th place and 1st masters in 1:26:08, while Kayte Partch crossed the line in 9th place in 1:26:51. Jen Freeman continued her busy, yet successful spring by finishing in 13th place in 1:28:23. Christina Longo was hot on her heels in 1:28:26. Breelan Kear made her Team Nebraska debut by finishing in 20th place with a time of 1:30:02. Blake Wageman cracked the top-25, placing 23rd in 1:31:36. Suzanne Higgins rounded out the 25th spot in 1:32:25. Haleigh Riggle finished in 1:34:48 for 45th place. Rachel Carrizales crossed the line in 1:37:25. Shawna Young ran well in 1:37:47. Amy Bagge was not far behind in 1:38:19. Joy Schulz finished in 1:47:23.
Team Nebraska had two men compete in the Berkshire Hathaway Invest in Yourself 5k held in Omaha on May 4th. Luka Thor and Brandon Wissing finished in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, both clocking 16:08.
