One of our newest members, Eric Lund, had an outstanding performance in his first competition in the red and white singlet. Lund was the champion in the 400 meter hurdles, with a time of 51.62; his time broke the previous club record of 51.96 set by Virgil Mitchell in 2011. What a great way to start off on the team with a championship and club record!
Matt Pohren had a difficult double in two distance events. Pohren finished 5th in the steeplechase Friday evening in 9:15.78. The steeple was competitive with the top 5 placers finishing within 8 seconds of each other. Pohren then doubled back the next morning in the 5k. He finished 3rd in 15:09.85. Matt has placed in the top three in at least one event at Club Nationals almost every year since 2008!
