April 26- Henry catapults onto IAAF World list in 400

Angee ran a world class 400 meters at Saturday's Drake Relays.  She was barely nipped at the line by Jamaica's Shareefa Lloyd, 51.84 to Angee's 51.89.  Outstanding running Angee!

Christensen top 5 at Drake Relays on the Road 8K.  Molly ran her final tune up before the Lincoln Half showing good form with a 5th overall in 30:37.  The Women's race at the Lincoln Half Marathon looks to be very competitive, my money is going on someone wearing the Red & White!

April 19- Race Results from weekend of April 17-18

Great stuff all around!  Angee Henry runs a sterling 2:03.63 at Mt. Sac Relays.  Angee nearly stole the race, you can see the flotrack video at www.nebraskarun.com

Shannon Stenger runs lifetime 1500 pr at Sioux City Relays!  Shannon used a great :60 last lap to take 2nd in 3:55.47

Matt Schneider 3rd at KU Relays 1500 in 3:59.46, Matt followed that up with a 2nd in the Steeplechase in 9:26.  Great running Matt!

Brian Erb wins Novartis 10K in 33:20, Bridget Easely 2nd female in 39:40.  Stacy Shaw took the masters title in 41:43.  Michelle Quinlan (41:18) and Courtney Mann (43:01) also raced Novartis.

April 11- TNB Trio at UNL, Half Marathon pr for Kelly Morgan

Three of our mates lined up against some tough college competition at yesterday's UNL Open.  Matt Schneider took 3rd in the Steeplechase in 9:24 after leading much of the race.  Shannon Stenger ran an impressive 3:58 in the 1500, good for 2nd, and like Matt, Shannon led much of his race.   Angee Henry raced a rare 400 to hone her speed for Mt. SAC next weekend.  Her time of 52.67 won the fast heat and put her back on the IAAF World leading list.  Great job of racing and representing mates!

At the Martian Half Marathon in Dearborn Michigan, Kelly Morgan ran a two minute pr 1:24:12 and took home the win.  Make some room on the mantle Mike!

April 5- Stenger Rocks, Schneider Rolls

Shannon Stenger showed excellent early form at this past weekend's NW Missouri Open running the 1500 in a quick 4:01.75 and then doubling back with a 1:59.7 800 meters.  Tough, tough, tough!
Matt Schneider won the Men's Steeple in a pedestrian 9:37, still a good opening effort with little to no barrier practice.
Great job mates!

Christensen races 10K

Molly had a good first race of the season running the Iowa State Campus tour in 38:52.  Pretty nice given the fact she was entered in the 5K, missed the turn off, and completed the full 10K!

April 3- Ni-Bthaska-Ke Trail Run recap

A beautiful morning greeted a record turn out for the race.  Ivan Marsh continued his domination of his home course, Abby Knight maintained an undefeated spring by taking the women's title.  Brian Kelley of Lincoln was the overall masters male in the 12K, Linda Barnhart took the women's masters race and finished second female.

In the accompanying 4 Mile which was being contested for the first year, Thomas Woods IV was the overall male, Angie Indra of Emporia, KS was the overall female.   Will Lindgren was 4th o/a and first masters male, Mary Jungman of Papillion was first masters female.

Erickson-Olson takes S. Sioux City 10 Mile masters title

Roxi ran the Siouxland Trail in 1:07:20, a minute twenty faster than last weekend's State Farm 10 Mile.  Looking forward to seeing Roxi run well at Lincoln in a couple of weeks.

March 28- Annual rite of spring, the mates rock State Farm!

TNB covered the field taking the top spots across all divisions in the annual State Farm 10 Mile.  No surprise that Tom Nichols took home the win (53:29), a little amazing how he did it though.  After an 8 mile warm up at 6:00 pace Tom ran the race at goal marathon pace , he is going to rock Boston in three weeks.
Kaci Lickteig showed that she has fully recovered from a late winter lull.  After running the first 5 at a relatively pedestrian 6:30 pace she started dropping the miles (and the competition) finishing the last mile in a quick 5:57 for a pr of 1:03:20.  She has to be considered a conteder for the Lincoln Marathon title on May 2!
The men's master's race went to Kraig Vanderbeek in 1:01:48, the women's masters title to Roxi Erickson-Olsen in 1:08:22.
Other performances by the mates:
Matt Schneider, (2nd o/a)- 54:47
Brian Erb (5th)- 56:09
Brian Wandzilak (6th)- 57:36
Ryan Salem (7th)- 58:40

March 17- Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Thanks for checking in, I'll be updating the news section frequently now that the spring competitions are just around the corner.

Feb. 21- Erickson 2nd overall at Pasadena Marathon
Roxi shows no sign of slowing down as the 46 year old Nebraska legend ran a sparkling 3:11:30 good enough for 2nd at this morning's Pasadena (CA) Marathon.  Pretty incredible given her longest run has been her daily 9 miler on the treadmill.  She would have undoubtedly run faster if the course had not doubled back on the field, necessitating a wild weave fest through the oncoming walkers.  Roxi reports the constant "Go Team Nebraska" were huge encouragements, especially in the later miles.  Her time age grades to 79.41, outstanding run Roxi!

Saalfeld 10th at Husker Last Chance Meet
Michael made a good effort towards his USA Indoor qualifier but came up short running the 800 meters in 1:56.61.

Feb 9- USA Masters Half Marathon National Championships results
Linda Barnhart was only one of the bright spots as she captured 3rd o/a in the 45-49 age group in a nice 1:35:07.  Stacy Shaw took 5th in the 40-44 with 1:33:01, Kelly Crawford was 6th in the men's 45-49 in 1:33:01, and Will Lindgren was 4th in the men's 50-54 in 1:36:24.
Stacy, Linda, & Will were all in the top 50 age graded results like this:
Stacy-75.27
Linda-74.98
Will-70.66
A very windy and chilly morning greeted the 1400 runners, not at all what you would expect in sunny South Florida.  Time goals were adjusted to compensate for the less than ideal conditions and the 2 giant causeways that were traversed over the Indian River.
In the full Melbourne Beaches Music Marathon TNB Medical Director Bill Weeks ran his first marathon in 28 years, running an outstanding 3:34:08 to finish 4th in the 50-54 age group, well done Bill!

Feb 7- Pohren 8th at Sevigne 5000
Matty P. ran an impressive 15:01 to finish 8th against some of the top college studs in the midwest.  Great job Matt!

Feb 7- Nichols brothers run Austin Half.
John & Tom went to Texas to bust some rust.  John ran 1:14 and change while Tom developed hip pain and pulled over to fight another day.

Schneider runs USA Men's Half Marathon Championships in Houston.
Matt had a good first 10 miles before experiencing stomach issues and struggling to a 1:11:11.  A great experience for Matt.

Tucker takes DeLeon 5K
Jordan Tucker led all finishers at this past weekend's DeLeon Springs 5K in Florida.  A chance to get some turnover in, Jordan took the title in 16:36.  While the Tuckers were enjoying some warmer weather, Jordan took the opportunity to re-fill Will's water bottles at the famous Fountain of Youth.
